Who is Keiley?

Keiley is a second year PhD student in medical imaging sciences at The University of Sydney, Australia. She also holds a bachelor’s degree with honours in diagnostic radiography from The University of Sydney, Australia.

Her work focuses on advancing and optimising MRI techniques to better understand the structure and healing of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). By combining imaging analysis with clinical data, she aims to improve how we detect, monitor, and treat ACL injuries over time. Her research sits at the intersection of medical physics, radiology, and sports medicine, bridging cutting-edge imaging science with real-world patient outcomes.

Alongside her research, Keiley shares her experiences as a PhD student and early-career researcher online as @reallykeiley, where she document the realities of postgraduate life, encouraging young girls in Australia to pursue STEM based careers, the balance between healthy habits and advanced research degrees, and aims to make medical research more transparent and relatable.
